They were by no means rich, but were fairly well off. He's the younger of two, with an elder sister who's four years older then him. His childhood was distinctly average, with both his parents working for major corporations, although neither held real rank. Sebastian craves those old days before he became odd, and desperately wants them back. He did well enough in school - right until his powers awoke at the tender age of thirteen. Already going through the standard struggles of a teenage boy, things suddenly became much, much worse. Not only was Sebastian a NEXT, but he was gifted with a power that was both extremely useful - and extremely painful. Sebastian could listen to other people's thoughts, which most would have imagined to be a wonder. Unfortunately, it ended up more of a curse - simply put, Sebastian's power's never went off. Without the glow, and muttering about voices, Sebastian was assumed to have suffered a severe mental breakdown. He was committed, and spent two years in 'recovery', buried under medications and unable to explain what it was that he was thinking. Over time, he realized what his power was - and how dangerous it was to tell people that sad truth. Once released into the care of his family and a whole barrage of therapists, Sebastian learned to play the system. He 'improved' greatly by learning to ignore most of the input he got, by listening in to his therapist and saying what he wanted to hear, and by completely ditching the medication. He taught himself to cope, and was eventually declared to be a success story, his symptoms entirely cured. Sebastian graduated three years late, and took one of the first jobs he could find. He ended up a cameraman with Hero TV, having few worries about going to dangerous places. His power helps him avoid trouble, even if it causes more then enough trouble for him. He's often seen with large headphones, blasting music far too loudly in an attempt to drown out the voices in his head. In crowds he's almost useless, having to find things to focus on, or ways to drown it out. It's a sensory overload in every way, and more often then not, you don't want to know what people are thinking.
